Florida Youth Protest Smutty Ornaments

A group of teens from Carpenter's Shop Church in Arlington, Fla., wants mall-store Spencer's to remove pornographic ornaments -- sold as "pornaments" -- from its stores, WFTV.com reported.

Spencer's is known for selling less-than-tasteful wares, but the fact that a child can walk in and see reindeer, snowmen and elves posed in sexual positions pushed Pastor Clint Wilder and his youth group into action.

"A 5-year-old can buy it for his brother or sister and it's absolutely ridiculous," he said. "I think it's gone far enough, and these kids are making a stand here."

The activist teens held signs and protested outside the mall.

"Pornography does not belong on a Christmas tree," they said.

Wilder said the teens are fed up with sex and pornography being marketed to their generation.

Jack Thompson, an attorney from Miami, said it's against the law to keep pornographic material in plain view where children shop.

"I sent a letter to Spencer's," he said, "telling them what statute in Florida they are violating."
