In his World Day of Peace address on Jan. 1, Pope Benedict XVI will tell nations that one of the keys is respecting life from conception to natural death, LifeNews.com reported.
Vatican officials released the text of a speech prepared for the event.
"Respect for people promotes peace. (We have) the duty to respect the dignity of each and every person," Benedict wrote. "Abortion and embryonic experimentation constitute a direct denial of that attitude of acceptance of others, which is indispensable for establishing lasting relationships of peace."
