Planned Parenthood is shrinking. The number of abortion facilities run by the nation's largest abortion provider is at a 20-year low, according to an American Life League (ALL) study.
"Americans are rejecting Planned Parenthood and its agenda as more and more of its clinics are closing across the United States," said Jim Sedlak, vice president of ALL and executive director of Stop Planned Parenthood (STOPP).
At the beginning of 2006, the abortion group was operating 872 clinics, while the year is ending with only 859.
That's the lowest number of clinics in operation since 1987, he said. California had the largest number of closings.
"It is time elected officials got the message," Sedlak said, "and stopped giving hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to an organization that is clearly losing public support all across the nation."
