South Carolina lawmakers are voting on the ratification of a voter-approved state constitutional amendment that defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman, The Associated Press reported.
The state Senate has passed it, and it is making its way through the House.
Seventy-eight percent of voters supported the amendment in the November election. Both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees have sent the measure to their respective floors for a vote.
