Pro-Life Groups Sue to Keep Stem Cell Proposal Off Ballot

Life advocates asked a judge on Tuesday to stop a New Jersey ballot measure that would authorize $450 million for destructive embryonic stem-cell research and human cloning.

New Jersey Right to Life said the ballot measure is deceiving because it doesn’t specify that the money would pay for embryonic stem-cell research and human cloning and doesn't explain that the debt could be reimbursed with property taxes.

The case seeks a temporary restraining order to stop the printing of the ballots and an injunction preventing the question from appearing on the ballots.
