The U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bill Tuesday to extend the Title V abstinence-education program for six months. It was scheduled to expire this month. The bill is now in the House.
Title V distributes money for abstinence-only education to states that apply for it.
“We applaud the continued support from the Senate for abstinence-until-marriage education,” said Linda Klepacki, sexual health analyst for Focus on the Family Action. “It is a victory for the health of students across the country.”
