Good News: College Clubs Spread Message of Abstinence

In the face of the rampant “safe-sex” message prevalent on college campuses, students at several colleges and Ivy League schools across the country have started clubs to promote abstinence until marriage.

The clubs are delivering the abstinence message to those who promote sex anytime, anywhere, with anyone. Linda Klepacki, sexual health analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said she is thrilled students are protecting their sexuality.

“This next generation is proving to be warriors and warriors for health,” she said, “and I am grateful.”

Harvard, MIT and Princeton are among the schools that have student-led abstinence clubs. Robert George, a faculty representative for Princeton’s Anscombe Society, said these clubs are sharing a much-needed message.

“What we need to be doing is equipping our college students to understand the reasons and to make the arguments supporting virtue in matters of sexuality,” he told Family News in Focus.
