A federal judge ruled Friday that an Arizona school district must allow a Christian student club to make meeting announcements over the public-address system, since other student clubs are allowed to.
The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) filed a lawsuit in January against the Deer Valley Unified School District after it denied the Common Cause club’s request to announce a prayer meeting.
"Christians shouldn’t be discriminated against for expressing their beliefs," ADF Senior Counsel David Cortman said. "Officials deliberately silenced a Christian student club while allowing other clubs to convey their messages."
