For the third year, FRC Action, in partnership with Focus on the Family Action, American Values and the Alliance Defense Fund, is hosting the Values Voter Summit. This year’s event takes place Sept.12-14 in Washington, D.C. Early bird registration is under way.
Capitalizing on the success of 2007, FRC Action is putting together a full slate of speakers and sessions designed to inform and equip values voters.
“The Values Voter Summit is a dynamic, three-day gathering of Americans who share the values of protecting life, marriage and religious liberties,” said Sonja Swiatkiewicz, director of issues response at Focus on the Family Action. “The summit is designed to educate and equip concerned citizens about the importance of voting the values we hold most dear, as well as how they can be involved in making an impact this election season.”
The 2008 event will feature national leaders and policy makers, including Newt Gingrich, Tony Perkins and Gary Bauer.
Gary Schneeberger, vice president for media relations at Focus Action, saw the importance of the summit last year.
“To hear the media tell it, values voters don’t matter much anymore," he said. "At the summit, you see firsthand how ridiculous that claim is. There’s an energy in the sessions and the speeches that speaks to just how committed those who stand for the sanctity of human life and the value of traditional marriage are.
"You find friends, kindred spirits and fellow activists who share your passion for policies that benefit the family — and get to hear from some of the wisest, most influential social conservatives in the country. It’s always a weekend well and productively spent.”
