Good News: Young Republicans Embrace Pro-Life Platform

'Conservatives can rest assured that our message is alive and well.'

The future of the pro-life movement is in good hands: According to an Associated Press analysis, a third of young Republicans oppose abortion in all circumstances.

The data, taken from exit polls at the 2008 primaries, also revealed that values rate 10 points higher among the under-30 crowd, while older voters look to experience.

“For them to hear someone say, ‘Well, that’s just a fetus,’ or 'There’s a right for an abortion to take place and murder that innocent life,' they’re very skeptical of the idea," said Jason Mattera, spokesman for Young America’s Foundation. "They can see how they have been given the opportunity of life.”

Jessica Colon, chairman of the Young Republican National Federation, said the younger GOP generation embraces the full conservative package.

“Young Republicans support the three-legged stool of the Republican Party," she said. "They want a strong national defense, they believe in fiscal conservatism and they believe in the values that the Republican Party has always held dear.

“Conservatives can rest assured that our message is alive and well in our Republican youth, and we see it on a daily basis.”
