Good News: University of Florida Told to Recognize Christian Fraternity

The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently ordered the University of Florida to recognize the Christian fraternity Beta Upsilon Chi.

The fraternity, also known as Brothers Under Christ, sued after the university failed to register the group.

“We’re really glad the 11th Circuit recognizes the seriousness of this constitutional violation and hope the university complies with the court order," said Isaac Fong, a lawyer with the Christian Legal Society who represented the group.

"Christians shouldn’t be shy about asserting their First Amendment rights, and this includes the right to associate based on shared faith commitments.”
