The U.S. House passed a resolution Wednesday to extend key pro-life policies through March 2009.
For more than 12 years, Congress has put pro-life provisions called “riders” into appropriations bills to address issues such as taxpayer-funded abortions and abortions for federal prisoners.
"Fortunately, the pro-life provisions will remain in place," said Ashley Horne, federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action. "But it remains to be seen what a new Congress and a new president will do. We expect it will be a fight to keep the riders in place."
