Kindergarten Teacher under Fire for Promoting Gay Agenda in Classroom

During so-called National Ally Week, a kindergarten teacher in Hayward, Calif., passed out cards to her class asking them to be "allies" of homosexuals and transsexuals and to pledge to "not use anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) language or slurs."

Now the Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science is acknowledging the exercise was not appropriate for kindergartners, and the school board is considering action against the teacher, Tara Miller.

"They know it's a public-relations disaster, just like it was a public-relations disaster when the first-graders took a field trip to a lesbian wedding," said Chip White, spokesman for the Protect Marriage campaign.

"It exposes the false argument that they've made throughout the campaign — that Prop. 8 has nothing to do with education."

Without a constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage, the gay-based curriculum is likely to continue.

"How do you teach a 5-year-old to sign a pledge card for lesbian, gay and transgender issues without explaining what transgender and bisexual is?" asked Sonja Eddings Brown, a spokeswoman for Protect Marriage.
