When Baby Jesus kept disappearing from a Nativity scene in Wellington, Fla., officials installed a GPS device in the life-size figure. An 18-year-old woman was arrested in the latest theft, thanks to the technology.
Many nonprofits are using technology to protect their mangers and menorahs. New York-based BrickHouse Security is offering a free month's use of security cameras and GPS devices to up to 200 nonprofit religious groups.
“This is the season of giving, and we want to support nonprofits in a way we can,” BrickHouse CEO Todd Morris told CitizenLink.
So far in 2008, Baby Jesus also has been reported stolen in Kittanning, Pa., and Eureka Springs, Ark.
