Chicago Buffer-Zone Ordinance Goes Too Far

 

Chicago's City Council has approved an ordinance that would prevent pro-life sidewalk counselors from coming within eight feet of anyone outside an abortion clinic.

Jo Tolck, executive director of Human Life Alliance, said such a restriction would keep women from getting vital, life-saving information at a moment of crisis.

"I had a woman in my office sobbing hysterically. Her abortion was 25 years ago. She did not have information available to her," she said. "If there is a bubble zone, this further impedes them from getting information they need to make a very significant decision in their lives."
