Audio Commentary: Dr. Dobson Says Dogs Receive More Protection than Babies

Stories of animal brutality outrage America as partial-birth abortions go unnoticed.

"If we can judge the heart of a man or women by their treatment of animals, what can we say about the individual whose heart is cold toward human life?"

In his 90-second "Focus on the Family Commentary" airing today on ABC radio, Dr. James C. Dobson, founder and chairman of Focus on the Family, questions the outrage following accusations that NFL player Michael Vick abused animals. To be clear, Dr. Dobson loves dogs and is angered by their abuse, but no such outrage was heard during the years when partial-birth abortion was legal in the U.S.

"It sickens me to think of what has happened to late-term, viable babies seconds from final delivery," he says. "A child was fully brimming with life before the abortionist inserted a cannula (small tube) into the head, and without anesthetics, callously suctioned out his or her brains. The head collapsed, and a dead baby was delivered.

"Where was the comparable outrage over this procedure? Where was the demand for an end to this brutality? The silence tells us that many people are more concerned about the treatment of animals than they are about the lives of innocent babies.

"There is definitely something convoluted here!"

"Focus on the Family Commentary" is a one-of-a-kind, daily 90-second feature designed to provide you with the keys to stronger marriages, effective parenting, deeper relationships and a more satisfying life.
