Pro-life lawmakers and pro-family groups participated in a Focus on the Family Action news conference on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. They were there to deliver nearly 150,000 petitions asking Congress to exclude funding for abortion from any health-care reform proposal.

"It was encouraging to hear pro-life lawmakers speaking from the heart," said Stuart Shepard, who was joined in the Focus Action Update by Senior Vice President Tom Minnery and federal policy analyst Ashley Horne.
"Each of them needs our prayers and our encouragement. They are standing for what they believe in, and that can be a costly thing to do."
