West Virginia Take Action

The National Gambling Impact Study Commission recommended that states should refuse to allow the introduction of casino-style gambling into pari-mutuel facilities; specifically, if the intent is to save a pari-mutuel facility that the market has determined no longer serves the community or for the purpose of competing with other forms of gambling.

[National Gambling Impact Study Commission (NGISC) Final Report, Section 3, p. 18, June1999.]
