Thank the Senators Who Voted for Grassroots Free Speech

The Bennett Amendment to strike a troubling provision of the lobbying-reform bill will allow groups to continue to freely inform the public about what Congress is doing.

The Senate passed the Bennett Amendment Thursday evening to strike the free-speech limiting Section 220 from S. 1, the lobbying-reform bill. Thanks to the efforts of the grassroots, this attempt to stifle groups like Focus on the Family Action was stopped.

The amendment was introduced by Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah. Call his office and thank him for offering this common-sense measure: (202) 224-5444.

You can review the roll-call vote on the amendment on the Senate Web site . Look over the list to see how your senators voted. Send an e-mail expressing thanks for those who supported it. You may contact them througn the CitizenLink Action Center.
