Take Action: Oppose Colorado Bill that Targets Catholic Hospitals

The probable intent of HB 1203 is to interfere with the pending sale of Lutheran and Good Samaritan hospitals to the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System.

Opposition surrounding the sale of these two hospitals has mounted from lawmakers who do not want guidance from the Catholic Church on what services the hospitals will offer. Currently, Catholic hospitals are prohibited from performing certain medical procedures such as abortion.

TAKE ACTION

If you live in Colorado, contact your legislators and urge them to oppose efforts to restrict the religious liberties of Catholic hospitals to follow the ethical directives of their Church. Visit the Colorado Family Institute Web site.
