Last week, Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., voted against an amendment to a labor appropriations bill that would have prevented family planning funds from supporting abortion providers — despite that fact that he ran as a pro-life supporter in the last general election.
This is the second anti-life vote Casey has cast in two months — he recently voted against the Mexico City policy, which prevents tax dollars from going to overseas groups that perform abortions.
Ashley Horne, federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said Casey’s supporters should be disappointed by his deceit.
“Senator Casey has dishonored his father’s pro-life legacy and misled his constituents about his pro-life stance," she said. “His constituents will not soon forget his broken campaign promise.”
Casey's father, Robert, served as governor of Pennsylvania from 1987-1995. Liberals refused to let him address the 1996 Democratic National Convention because of his pro-life policies.
