CWA President Called ‘Worst Person in the World’

Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America (CWA), has been named the “worst person in the world” by Keith Olbermann, host of Countdown with Keith Olbermann, a nightly MSNBC newscast. Every night, he chooses a new recipient.

Wright earned the title following a recent interview on Fox News Channel’s Special Report in which she said advocates for "comprehensive" sex education benefit when teens contract sexually transmitted infections or become pregnant and have an abortion.

Wright told CitizenLink her newest title is actually a positive thing.

“The overwhelming response I am getting from Olbermann’s award is hearty ‘Congratulations!’ ” she said. “More importantly, it has provided a wonderful platform to spotlight the common-sense point that earned me the title, that comprehensive sex ed promoters profit from the ill effects of their products.”

According to its annual report, Planned Parenthood performed 264,943 abortions during its 2005-06 fiscal year and made $55.8 million in profit.

“Planned Parenthood — one of the foremost cheerleaders of ‘comprehensive sex ed’ — has a vested interest in seeing that young girls become pregnant and have abortions,” CWA attorney Matt Barber wrote in a recent column. “It's a classic case of ‘the fox watching the henhouse.’ ‘Comprehensive sex ed’ spells money in the bank because it actually encourages kids to have sex. It doesn't work, and they know it.”
