N.Y. Legislation Would Force Abortion on Religious Hospitals

 

They would have to kill preborn babies or make referrals.

Under legislation sitting in the New York Assembly, religious hospitals and social service agencies in the state would be required to perform abortions or refer women to an abortionist.

Hospitals would have to violate their religious policies if the Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act passes.

Dennis Poust, spokesman for the New York State Catholic Conference, said it would make hospitals accessories to death.

“It’s really a violation of religious freedom to force an organization to engage in an evil act which is against its clear teaching," he said.
