California's marriage-protection amendment will go on the November ballot as is.
Originally, the initiative's title and summary statement explained that the amendment simply defined marriage as between a man and a woman. Now, it also states that the amendment will "eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry."
Marriage advocates have decided their lawsuits challenging the biased wording will not go on.
"We have declined to further appeal this matter," Yes on 8 spokeswoman Jennifer Kerns told PolitickerCA.com. "We will leave it to the ultimate judge — the voters — on Election Day."
