Charmaine Yoest is moving from vice president of communications at the Family Research Council (FRC) to president and chief executive officer of Americans United for Life (AUL).
Tony Perkins, president of FRC, called her departure a "deep loss."
"It's good to know that her gifts will now be deployed at the helm of one of the best-known and most successful pro-life groups in the country," he said. "We're confident our paths will cross many times as we work to protect innocent human life."
Yoest said she sees encouraging signs in the fight to protect life.
"The vast majority of Americans want to see abortion limited," she said. "And that’s what AUL is working on.”
AUL, which focuses on state legislation, is a good friend of Focus on the Family.
“Through the years, we have come to trust Americans United for Life," said Carrie Gordon Earll, senior bioethics analyst at Focus on the Family Action. "We rely on their staff for legal direction, timely strategy and cogent arguments.”
