'I am eternally grateful for the wisdom that comes through the airwaves everyday.'

I had become a Christian three years before first hearing Dr. Dobson on the radio back in 1995, but I had no clue how to live like a Christian. I grew up in a good family by many standards, but I had no training on how to be a Christian husband and father. I had no mentor or discipling – mostly because of my own rebellion. I was completely lost on how to live a Christian life. Much of this came screeching to my attention when my first child, Danielle, was born. Now, I'm responsible for someone else's values. Where do I even start?

Thank God for Focus and Jim Dobson. I remember his passion for the unborn. I remember his words about discipline. The best analogy I ever heard was that discipline is like a battery. There must be a positive pole and a negative pole. Without a balance of each, the battery won't work, and so it is with discipline.

I will not deify him, but he has profoundly impacted my family for Christ.  He was a shining example to me when I needed solid Biblical advice and someone to show me the way. My children are now 13 and 11 and I am eternally grateful for the wisdom that comes through the airwaves everyday, and my understanding of marriage, family, faith, parenting, sanctity of life, stress, margin, That the World May Know, and on and on.

Thanks so much for the sacrifice and service you have given to dads like me for God's glory. You have impacted my life in so many ways. I thank God for you, Dr. Dobson.

In Christ,
–  Andrew
