Good News: Love Won Out Takes Message of Hope to Alaska

Focus on the Family's Love Won Out conference brought the biblical message of redemptive hope and transformation on the issue of homosexuality to Anchorage, Alaska, on Saturday.

The event, which was held at Abbott Loop Community Church, drew more than 300 people — a large turnout in the sparsely populated state. The conference also drew a large media contingent, largely because it was promoted by Gov. Sarah Palin's home church.

Kermit Rainman, an analyst on Focus on the Family's research team, attended the conference and said: "From the testimonies of God's goodness and grace shared by those who have come out of homosexuality to the sessions on how the church is called to reach out in love, truth and compassion to those impacted by this issue, the sweet Spirit of the Lord was very much present in Anchorage.

"Many were encouraged and ministered to in a powerful way."
