Notorious Kansas abortionist George Tiller is asking for suppression of evidence gathered by former Attorney General Phill Kline. Tiller, who is accused of performing illegal late-term abortions at his Wichita clinic, claims Kline is an "obsessed politician."
Tiller faces 19 criminal counts on charges of violating state abortion law, which requires a second and independent doctor's consent before a late-term abortion can be performed.
Kline said this is another example of Tiller's attorneys trying to hold him above the law.
"During the investigation, as well as the prosecution, there has been a constant from Mr. Tiller's attorneys and Mr. Tiller, and that's the effort to prevent the truth from coming out," he told Family News in Focus. "His latest filing is more of the same."
Jenn Giroux, executive director of Women Influencing the Nation, is calling on the current attorney general to look into charges that crimes are being committed against women and preborn babies in Tiller's clinic.
"This is just one more continuation of the miscarriage of justice that's going on inside Kansas and against women," she said.
