Americans who are fed up with the extravagant spending in Washington will gather Wednesday for Taxed Enough Already (TEA) parties in their community.
"On tax day, we get to remind Washington that we pay the bills for all of their pork-barrel spending," Dan Gainor, vice president of the Media Research Center’s Business & Media Institute, wrote in a recent column.
The rallies began in February when tens of thousands of people gathered to celebrate a sentiment made popular in Boston in 1773 — when patriots threw tea into the harbor rather than pay outrageous taxes.
The mainstream media largely have ignored the nationwide protests, even as Congress loads pork projects and stimulus bills on the backs of American taxpayers and their children.
