The Civil Rights March for Unborn Americans, set for June 13, will follow Dr. Martin Luther King's historic route across the Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala.
King's nice, Dr. Alveda King, will join the march, which is sponsored by Alabama Citizens for Life.
“It’s very appropriate for us to march on that same bridge," she said. "We’re now dealing with another aspect of genocide — that a baby in the womb is not a person.”
Dr. Alveda King said abortion is very much a civil rights issue.
“We’ll be crying out to God," she said, "and praying that the Lord will have mercy and hear the cries of the little babies and the many, many women who have been hurt by abortion.”
The march will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. rally on the Capitol steps.
