The family of George Tiller says his Wichita, Kan., abortion clinic will be "permanently closed," according to The Associated Press. Tiller was shot to death May 31.
In a statement released today, the family said it is proud of the "service and courage shown by our husband and father."
Carrie Gordon Earll, senior bioethics analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said: "For years, pro-life activists have tried to redirect women going to Tiller's clinic away from abortion and toward life for their preborn child.
"The closing of this clinic — albeit under tragic circumstances — will give women another opportunity to reconsider abortion and choose life."
