Florida was the first state to offer a "Choose Life" license plate. Ten years later, similar plates are available in 24 states and have generated more than $10 million for adoption agencies, pregnancy centers and other pro-life causes.
Russ Amerling, secretary and treasurer for Choose Life, Inc., said there were challenges along the way.
“When we came up with this idea, we had three and a half weeks to raise $30,000 and get 10,000 signatures of licensed drivers (in Florida) who would buy the plate," he said.
Amerling has a big goal.
“If the Lord lets us live long enough," he said, "our vision is to see the 'Choose Life' plates in all 50 states."
