A new documentary from The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network addresses the controversy over life-destroying embryonic stem-cell research versus ethical, adult stem-cell research.
In "Lines That Divide," prominent scientists from both sides of the debate discuss the details surrounding modern-day research.
Wesley J. Smith, a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute, presents a pro-life perspective.
"What makes the controversy so intense is that a nascent human being — an embryo at the 1-week stage — is being destroyed for its body parts, its stem cells," he says on the documentary.
Jennifer Lahl, founder and national director of The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network, said life advocates need to be on the alert.
"Beware of euphemisms," she says. "You'll see a lot of euphemisms when there's controversy, because people want to advance their point of view."
