People in four Indiana cities (Anderson, Huntington, Kokomo and Fort Wayne) are seeing roadside billboards that depict a distraught woman with the caption “Is Porn the Other Woman? Porn doesn’t stay private.”
Micah Clark, executive director of the American Family Association (AFA) of Indiana, which is sponsoring the campaign, said using pornography qualifies as cheating on a spouse.
“Men may not see it this way,” he explained, “but women I’ve talked to who have been victims of pornography very much see their husband’s or their boyfriend’s use of pornography like a virtual adultery.”
And the harm to women is immeasurable, Clark added. “Women often say, ‘Well what’s wrong with me? Why is he feeling like he has to look at pornography?’ "
The porn problem today is worse than ever, even for children and teens, he noted.
"Now porn is coming at you in our sex-saturated society whether you want it or not,” he said, “through TV and the Internet.”
