John Wild, 95, Created 'Window to the Womb'

Life advocates are celebrating the life of John Wild, pioneer of the ultrasound machine, who passed away Sept. 18 at the age of 95.

"Ultrasound has been an irreplaceable tool that has helped women have a window into their womb and bond with their preborn children," said Kelly Rosati, senior director of Focus on the Family's Sanctity of Human Life department.

"An at-risk woman is twice as likely to choose life for her unborn child if she's had an ultrasound after counseling, versus just counseling."

It is estimated that since January 2004, Focus on the Family's Option Ultrasound program has helped to save more than 63,000 babies.
