Sex education in Massachusetts has devolved into a "how-to" course on hooking up, according to a retired teacher.
R.T. Neary, who taught for 30 years in Massachusetts schools, is working to change the state law governing sex education, the Boston Herald reported. He wants parents to be told what is being taught and be able to opt in their children, rather than opting out.
Republican state Rep. Elizabeth Poirier is working with Neary and has filed a bill to change the law.
"I believe the parent is a better judge to determine if, and when, they want their student to learn the material," Poirier said.
