Focus on the Family Action has been placing calls to people asking if they would like to tell their elected representatives how they feel about abortion in health-care reform. Those who agree are instantly connected with their lawmaker’s office.
Ten lawmakers were targeted in the House and six in the Senate.
So far, nearly 50,000 calls have been placed.
Ashley Horne, federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said lawmakers should pay attention to the outcry.
“Poll after poll shows us that Americans oppose public funding of abortion,” she said. “Somehow, that outcry has fallen on deaf ears in Congress. That’s why this targeted campaign is so important.”
TAKE ACTION
Ask your representative and senators to oppose any government mandated health-care plan that does not specifically exclude abortion coverage.
