Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was the keynote speaker at the annual Family Foundation of Virginia gala Tuesday.
Combining humor with personal stories, Huckabee challenged the crowd to continue to fight for freedom.
Nearly 1,300 people attended the event which is designed to inspire and motivate conservative voters.
It also focused on the state governor's race. Republican Bob McDonnell has an 11-point lead over Democrat Creigh Deeds.
Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia, said she's cautiously optimistic about the election.
"While we anticipate the success of pro-family candidates one week from now," she said, "we must remember this is not the conclusion of our work; it is the beginning."
