A group of Orthodox, Catholic and evangelical Christians came together today to sign a document outlining three areas of faith for modern believers.
The Manhattan Declaration focuses on the sanctity of human life, marriage as the exclusive union of one man and one woman, and religious liberty and freedom of conscience.
Signers include Dr. Robbie George of Princeton University, Chuck Colson, Bishop Harry Jackson, Tony Perkins, Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family and Dr. James Dobson, founder and Chairman Emeritus of Focus on the Family.
Daly said it encourages Christians to do and say the right things.
"What this declaration is saying is, if you want a fulfilling, rewarding, joyful, peaceful life," he said, "then embrace Jesus Christ as your Savior."
