Super Bowl Bets Can Be Costly for Many

The Super Bowl is one of the most heavily bet upon sporting events.

Research shows more companies organize office-betting pools on it than any other sporting event.

More than $93 million was wagered on the Super Bowl in 2007. Similar wagers are expected this year.

With gambling on the rise among the nation's youth, opponents of the vice say that it's a good opportunity for adults to set a good example and not participate in betting.

Michael Franzese, a former mob-boss bookie, said youth are getting more involved in various forms of gambling.

"They're gambling online," he said. "They're playing poker with their friends."
