Menendez takes New Jersey

U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, D-N.J., will represent the Garden State for a full term. Menendez was given the seat after former Senator Jon Corzine passed the seat on after his successful run for governor. Fox News reported that Menendez beat out the Republican challenger Thomas Kean, Jr.

Kean, the son of former governor and state senator, sought to be the first Republican in New Jersey since 1982.
