Republican: Mike DeWine: 44%
Democrat: Sherrod Brown: 56%
Precincts Reporting: 99%

Brown, a congressman from Ohio's 13th District, was nominated with 77 percent in a two-way primary. First elected in 1994, DeWine is seeking a third full term.

Why we're watching: Incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, who won his last reelection by 24 percent, is now running neck and neck with Democrat challenger Sherrod Brown.  DeWine’s social-conservative shortcomings the past couple of years together with a scandal involving the Republican governor have created an especially tough reelection campaign.
