Pro-Abortion Challenger Wins Pennsylvania House Seat

Another piece of bad news for pro-lifers watching House races tonight—Democrat challenger Joe Sestak has won the race for Pennsylvania House District 7 with 57 percent of the vote.

Sestak, a former Navy admiral, supports pro-abortion causes, as well as the federal funding of research that destroy human embryos. On his campaign Web site, Sestak stated that, “Regardless of my religious beliefs, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Roe vs. Wade that—as a nation—the United States should offer every woman the right to have a legal and safe abortion, if that is her choice. I support that decision.”

He defeated 10-term incumbent Curt Weldon, who scored highly on National Right to Life reviews and voted against federal funding of human embryonic stem-cell research.
