Focus Action Ads Call on Iowa Legislators to 'Let the People Vote'

from Focus on the Family Action

Iowans' chance to vote on a state marriage-protection amendment hangs on the decisions of two men, Sens. Michael Gronstal and Jack Kibbie, who are stalling the legislation in committee. The Iowa House passed the amendment last year, and there are enough votes in the Senate to approve it, if it reaches the floor. However, without approval from Sens. Gronstal and Kibbie, the amendment will die this year.

Ads running this week in Iowa papers (the Des Moines Register, the Council Bluffs Nonpareil, the Mason City Globe Gazette, the Sioux City Journal, the Davenport Quad City Times and the Emmetsburg Democrat-Reporter) urge Iowans to contact Gronstal and Kibbie — as well as Sens. Amanda Ragan, Steve Warnstadt and Maggie Tinsman, who have not pledged to support the marriage amendment — and urge them to let the people vote.
