'Thank You for Standing in the Gap'

Dr. Dobson, you have been a staple in my life since I first heard Focus on the Family in 1977. You have helped me through many trials — my oldest son became addicted to drugs and my husband was an alcoholic.

In 1996 my son, Luke, who was 17 at the time, was planning to attend college in Wyoming, so we rented a car in Denver and drove to the Focus on the Family campus first. We were both so excited to have the opportunity to visit. It was the highlight of our trip! We still talk about it. You have such a wonderful place there, we didn't want to leave.

I consider you a close friend, Dr. D. Your daily program is always relevant to me.  I so appreciate Focus Action, as well! Even now, all these years later, I never miss a program, and I'm still ordering material for myself and my family. I now have five grandchildren. Thank you for all the years, for being faithful to your God, your wife, your family and to all of us in "radio land." And thank you for standing in the gap, taking all the hits by being that voice out there speaking truth and standing up for what is good and right.

I probably will never get to meet you in person, but I look forward to meeting you "on the other side." May God continue to bless you and Focus for many more years. I love you, my brother.
